We've combined bike training with all the busyness of the month of June.
On June 4 we hosted a Pancake Breakfast in Brandon, it was well attended and they generously supported our fundraising efforts.   We were busy flipping pancakes so we didn't get any pictures during the Breakfast but we did get some during the bike ride we took around Brandon after breakfast.

You may recognize the Sea to Sea jersey from 2008, Tony Schweitzer cycled the whole distance that year.  He has been a great asset in our fundraising efforts.  We had a beautiful day for the ride and we got a lesson in riding in traffic, clipping in and out of our pedals and biking up some steep grades.  A big Thank you to Brandon 1st CRC for your hospitality, help and generous support.  Your donations put us over the top.
Tony enjoyed telling us about Brandon's church, it is a lovely brick building with an octagon shaped sanctuary and a lot of dark polished oak wood.  At one time in his career Tony was the pastor here.

It's been nice to watch the scenery on our bike rides get greener, the flowering trees are thick with blooms this year.  We even saw a guy with a handful of Morel mushrooms.

We were excited to receive our official Sea to Sea cycling jerseys

On the 8th we had a bridal shower for our future daughter in law, Leah Mazur.
After the shower we went for a bike ride with John & Bev Steendam to work off those fancy sandwiches and delicious  cheese cake.  John will drive support vehicles and Bev will cook for us around the middle of the Sea to Sea tour.

On Monday June 10 we did a cycle ride from Dugald MB to Pembina Hwy in Winnipeg.  Harv had 3 flat tires, we've decided that the self stick tire patches have to be handled gently.  We think we inflated the inner tube too much causing the patch to stretch too much which caused a slow leak.
I got this picture of the Red river and Winnipeg's new stadium "Investors Group Field".  The Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League will play there and concerts will be held there.  Taylor Swift will be there June 22.

Shortly after this the skies opened up and we had a downpour complete with hail.
June 11 we cycled to Lockport, we saw these pelicans feeding at the fish buffet at the end of the fish ladder that lets the fish get around the lock at Lockport.
The winter wheat is knee high, the canola has a good stand, so we hope that we have a good harvest when we get back in August.
