The season for cycling outside is getting closer, the first day of spring is Wednesday, so why does the landscape look like a picture one would see on a Christmas card?  I want a redo of the Spring of 2012 when the golf courses opened March 14th and people where golfing with shorts on.  Well maybe not, 2012 turned out to be a pretty dry year.  Better look on the bright side of things - we will have moisture and it is beautiful outside, the stronger sunshine of March makes the snow gleaming white.  So some may think of flowers, green grass and warmer weather for Easter, we have perfectly white gleaming snow - that is a good symbol of Easter too.

We had a successful Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on March 16.  We had a good crowd from both Transcona and Covenant churches and some support from the community too.  A big thank you to all who helped set up, take donations and flip pancakes.  Thanks too to those who came, enjoyed a good breakfast and supported Harvey & I and Bonita Vanderveen. (Sorry, forgot to take pictures)

Our next fund raiser is April 26 &27, We will be catering the Winnipeg Hope Centre Ministries Spring Conference "IN 2013".  This conference will promote awareness and provide support and resources to help churches and faith communities include their members who live with disabilities. http://www.in2013.org

Harv & I and Bonita had a successful Sea to Sea Soup Supper Saturday night (March 2).  A big thank you to all who made soup, helped in the kitchen and attended.  I'd like to acknowledge the businesses that made donations; Carver's knife donated hotdogs, Lucerne donated milk and Chris the Cookieman donated cookies.  If you enjoyed the food please stop in and purchase more at these businesses.  We had a good time, enjoyed good food and found out just how challenging it is to ride a bike on rollers.

Had a bike fit done by Dave at Alter Ego Sports in Winnipeg, after getting narrower  handle bars my shoulders feel better.  Still on the fence about a Brooks saddle or a Specialized seat.  I didn't get any pictures of the bike fit procedure but Harv got a picture of me coasting through the store on an amazingly light bike that rolled like you were going downhill both ways.

Next week we will be busy getting ready for our Pancake Breakfast.  You're all invited, it will be March 16 at Covenant Christian Reformed Church 653 Knowles Ave, Winnipeg.  We will be serving delicious pancakes and sausages from 8 - 11:30 am.  Hope to see you there.
